Just this morning I ventured over to ESPN.Com to find an article written by Jemele Hill titled "Same ol' song, sadly, from Tiger Woods".  I understand the media thinks they really don't have much else to talk about.  However, I would like to make points that reject that theory.   In this article, Mr. Hill speaks of the car crash that started the whole chain of events.  Are we really still going there?  Do you know how many single car accidents happen at night every single night?  Haven't we been told that most car accidents happen within five miles of the home?  So he is arguably the most popular athlete in the world, why does anybody seriously care about his single car accident?  Secondly, I view that as a personal matter.  I do not care how the FHP handled his single car accident just outside of his home.  It is trivial nonsense that needs to be lost in our minds.

Thirdly, we all now know he cheated on his wife with multiple women.  He came out, admitted to his indiscretions and his lies, and asked for forgiveness.  I do not care who it was with, when it was, where it was, or what they were doing.  I also do not care whether his speech during his news conferences are pre-written or straight off the top of his head.  Who in the world do you know, other than maybe John Daly, would go through an ordeal such as this and not concoct a pre-written speech to address the media with?  The most telling fact in all of this will be whether his peers forgive him and whether his wife forgives him.  If they do, then great, all the better for the PGA tour.  They need Tiger.  What were the ratings for the PGA tour events that Tiger did not play in compared with when Tiger was playing?  If his wife forgives him, then great for him and her, and if they truly can work it out, then that is great.  If not, that is their business, and I really do not care.  Tiger is good for the game, and we all know that.  At some point though, this nonsense of dragging out something over and over just for the sake of finding something to write about is ridiculous and annoying.

Why not talk about the resurgence of Ernie Els?  Isn't he worthy of "media" talk and consideration to be in play for a Masters title?  How about Anthony Kim, Alvaro Quiros, Fred Couples, or Phil Mickelson?  Why not talk about what is good in the game instead of the constant negativity that is associated with Tiger Woods transgressions?  Professional athletes have done much worse, and gotten off with far less than Tiger.  Do you not remember Leonard Little, Donte Stallworth, Jayson Williams, and countless others?  What is the bottom line with them?  They all killed someone, and two of them are still playing in the NFL, and the issues were dropped and rarely brought up with the media.  Donte Stallworth's trial just ended last summer.

For the good of the game and the sanity of everyone who is sick of hearing about what Tiger did wrong, please just drop it and move on.  If you forever hold him in a bad light and root against him, then that is your prerogative, but please quit dragging up trivial personal matters that are really none of our business.
