NEW GREENS

Cocoa Beach CC has recently renovated all 27 greens on the course. I must say they were a great investment. The greens are lightning fast right now, which is very enjoyable for me, but very hard! Players must plan to land their ball a tad short so it has room to check or it'll just bounce off. After a few aerifications and some sanding, these greens may compete to be some of the best in the county. Overall, this course has some of the best winter rates going and offers 3 fun 9 hole courses. IN addition, the large putting and separate pitching area gives those anxious to work on their short game a lot of room to warm up. We walked 18 holes just shy of 4 hours. Get out and enjoy the new greens...and watch out for gators.

Good shape, fun layout

This course is in great shape right now after the recent rain. The greens are very healthy and rolling very true. The fairways are very nice and very green, but I rated them a 3 because they are very fluffy. Center of the fairway is still like being in the first cut. However, this course offers the best price for a round of golf early in the morning compared to ALL surrounding courses. At this time, there is no where else you can play a course this nice and this fun for the price.

We played in the Rain!

This is still one of my favorite courses. WE played in the rain, and it rained the whole time. The greens still rolled smooth and true. And even though the fairways were pretty wet, they drained really really well. The course is in great shape, but I'm sure a little wet from the much needed rain it go over the last couple of days.

Great Layout, pretty good shape

This is target golf at its finest. This is definitely not a grip it and rip it course. This course has a great layout and offers many different looks at the hole. Most of the greens were in descent shape rolling pretty quick. The fairways for the most part were alright, but need to be cut. There were some fluffy spots. Most tee boxes were ok, but a couple were well rounded and pretty hacked. For at least a few more days, you can still play this course for just $27, which blows away any other prices in the county right now. This is such a fun course and I will definitely be back soon.

Tough Course, nice greens

I played here a couple days ago and it was beautiful. The greens were absolutely beautiful and rolled fast and true. The fairways on the front nine were in really nice shape, but the fairways on the back nine showed a little wear and tear due to all the rain and heavy play at the end of the season here. So far, this is my favorite course in CT. The views from #11 on the Player course are worth the price of green fees alone. Bring your A game though, this course is tough!

Island Green

I played this course yesterday and it was a great layout. The greens were definitely the best feature, although a few of them had been recently aerified and sanded. Many of the tee boxes were in poor shape as were the fairways, probably due to all the rain the area has seen. On a positive note, for those of you who may never make it to TPC Sawgrass, the #12 Par 3 with and Island Green may be the closet you get. What a great hole. This course has lots of elevation and I'm sure will get back to near perfect shape once it has some time to dry out and recover.

Prime shape after summer of Aerifying

Earlier this summer, this club aerified the course and it has recovered beautifully! From tee to green this course is in really nice shape. They also have some really good specials going on right now and additional specials for miltary, police, fire, and teachers.

Good Price, but needs a little love

Played here the 26th of September and the greens were the best part. Paid $25 to play which is a great rate this time of year. The fairways on some holes were nice, and other wholes were a mess. The course definitely shows signs of drought, but the collection areas around the greens, as well as the greens were pretty nice. They just fertilized the greens, but surprisingly they still rolled pretty true. For the price and layout, this course is definitely worth the trip right now, but is far from perfect condition.

Greens just Aerified and Sanded!

The greens were just punched and sanded and are not in very good shape at all. However, because of the type of grass the greens are made of at Savannahs, they will rebound before too long and be back to great shape.

Best Greens in Brevard, maybe Central Florida

I just played in the Platinum Coast Championship here and the greens are the nicest I have ever played. The course superintendent has done an amazing job keeping these greens fast, healthy, and rolling true. The whole course is in amazing shape and I highly recommend playing it. In addition, they have really great membership opportunities right now. For around $250 a month, basically you get unlimited golf with a cart and unlimited range balls for driving range and practice area.
