Real Nice Shape

Baytree has finally recovered from the cold winter we had. The course is nice and green and in real fine shape. The fairways are offering real nice lies almost everywhere and the greens are in real nice shape.

Greens nice, but fairways lack

The greens here at Rockledge are still some of the most enjoyable to play. Roll very true and at a nice speed. The fairways are struggling a bit right now. Usually they are very full and cut nice but seemed pretty ragged. This is a direct result of the cold weather we had a few months ago. The amenities at the course, especially the driving range, putting green, and pitching area are still in great shape. The driving range even features an artificial back tee area for practicing that is really nice.

Fun course, 2 different 9 holes

The course was in pretty good shape. You could tell that some of the greens had recently been punch, and some of the area's around the greens had recently been punched as well. That said, the punches didn't effect much. This course is a blast to play and offers two very unique 9 holes. The front is more open where the bad has a lot of oak trees. The greens were in descent shape as was the fairways and tee boxes, but all have room to improve and I'm sure will as the rainy season arrives.

Fun and easy

Played a tournament round at Venetian Bay today. This course was a lot of fun to play. Because this course offers nice and somewhat easy layout, being aggressive, especially on the par 5s, is very realistic! The greens for the most part were in nice shape, but could have rolled a little faster. A few greens had some troubled spots, but overall, I was very pleased with them. The fairways were very green, but could have been a lot more full. If you were off of the fairway, the rough and arena out from that were very hard, so if you pulled a shot, it was likely to bounce hard in the rough area and run out. This is a private course, but they do offer chances to play for the public. I highly recommend it. On another note, the clubhouse is very nice for a beverage and bite to eat after a round.

Aerified greens, but still in okay shape

The course was green, but pretty dry. The greens were in ok shape but very hard and tough to hold the balls. They have recently punched the greens, but used real small holes so they aren't affected too much and are still rolling ok. The fairways are pretty matted down, buy ok as well. Overall this course is in about a 3 out of 5 condition.

Course was in OK shape, but could be better

I have played this course when its in great shape, and today was far from it. To begin, the driving range was a disaster! No grass, no balls to hit! The putting green and chipping area however was in pretty nice shape. The greens on the course played much the practice green which was nice. The fairways were in rough shape. Its not that there was dirt, there was plenty of grass, but different kinds of grass and not many level lies. A few times I was in the middle of the fairway and my ball was sitting down between 2 different kinds of grass, which was almost like a divot. The tee boxes for the most part were in poor shape too. Lots of divots and sloped shaped tee boxes, giving you either a down hill or up hill tee shot. The greens were definitely the best part of the course now, but not nearly enough of a reason to come back soon. Give this course a month to grow and come back a little more from the winter.

good shape, little dry

The greens were in pretty good shape, but hard and slow. You'd get a lot of roll out of your tee shots as the fairways were green, but firm. The fairways are not in the greatest shape but I'm sure will start to get thicker as the rainy season begins. The tee boxes were pretty chewed up on some holes and nice on others. The driving range is in real poor shape, hardly any grass to hit on. All that said, this course is still a blast to play and they offer some pretty good deals right now, especially for Military, fireman, police officers, and teachers. Go to their site for details.

I expected better

I had an opportunity to play this course recently through a special invite. I was so excited and expected everything to be near perfect but was unfortunately let down a bit. The greens rolled ok, but not to fast. Some of them were struggling a bit and you could tell that they had all been verticutted and sanded recently. The fairways were hit and miss as well. Some spots were real nice, and others were sparse. The rough was in ok shape, but overall, this course is still showing effects from the hard freezes Orlando had a couple months ago. This course does have a fantastic layout though and was quite fun to play. I'm sure its a top course when the grass is in better shape.

Great price, great greens, and light!

The quality of the greens is worth every penny of greens fee. I'm visiting in town and played (renting clubs) 9 holes for only $19 dollars. The staff is extremely friendly and makes you feel welcome. I visited their website before going and it said the greens were in great shape and it was right. Really beautiful greens. That said, the fairways aren't so great. Really tight lies most of the time as the grass isn't real thick. The tee boxes are real nice too. This course has a great layout and what is really cool, ITS LIGHTED!! Yes, you can play 18 holes at night!! Get out and enjoy the greens, and the ability to play at night!

Descent shape

This course is in pretty good shape considering the time of year. This course, like most others, are still coming out of their dormant phase. The greens are the best feature of the course. The fairways for the most part are in descent shape, but not great, hence the 3 stars. This course does have a large putting, chipping, and range area though. The layout is a lot of fun and has a nice blend of tough and easy holes.. Hopefully with some rain in the next month or so, the green will really come back and this course will go from being a 3 star course to a 4 to 4.5 star!
