They are Proud of their course!I love Duran and have played there a ton. But from the day they opened, it seems their biggest problem is getting the grass to grow in thick on the course. It seems every lie in any fairway is a tight lie, and in most cases, you can see dirt right through the grass. The greens have been hit and miss, although without a doubt they are the nicest feature of this course. All the courses are struggling a bit because of the drought. Get the afternoon rate or one of the specials they offer, and it'll be worth it. If not, they will charge you a high rate and you won't think it's worth it when its done. Possibly the best greens in the countyGreens Greens Green!!! This course is worth the money just for the greens. They are beautiful and are rolling true as can be. The rest of the course is in really nice shape as well. Get out and enjoy! Decent across the board, could be betterI'm big on greens and these greens were average for the time of year. The rest of the course followed. If you play in the afternoon and don't spend a fortune, it's worth it right now. Gorgeous FairwaysI love this course and played cause it was recommended to me, but was disappointed in the greens condition. It's almost as if they are going through a transition right now in grass. They were really fast and rolled pretty true, but looked sparse, almost as if you could see dirt through the grass. The fairways were a dream though and make playing at Viera worth it right now! Course RatingsPros This course was in much better shape than my last visit. OUt of all the greens, only one green had a bad spot, the rest were beautiful. The whole course was absolutely gorgeous and in great shape. If you have a chance to play here, you definitely need to go. The service was top notch as well!! Course RatingsPros For the amount of rain this course has seen lately, its in fantastic shape. The greens were punched 3 weeks ago but you wouldn't even know as they are rolling fast and pretty true. Course RatingsPros the current prices. Cons This course is in pretty rough shape right now. I played the back nine yesterday and every green was in terrible shape. I think they are in the process of changing the grass or overseeding. Nonetheless, the greens, fairways, and tee boxes all need a little TLC. This course is still fun to play, and if you wait until the afternoon, you can get a cheap rate for 18 holes. Course RatingsPros Greens are the best thing at this course at the moment. I have played here probably 4 times in the last two months. The green fees are very reasonable which makes playing here attractive. Most of the fairways are in good shape, but there are some rough patches here and there. Overall though, this course is fun and in good enough shape to enjoy a great day out. One more thing, if you follow Baytree on Twitter, you get $3 off! Cons Some of the fairways have some very thin areas where you can see dirt through the grass. Surely a result due to the lack of rain.
