This course is possibly the come back course of the decade. It was in poor state about 2 years ago. The latest owner has poured in a ton of money to the course, the club house.. and its starting to really show !

The greens roll true, no bumps and are as beautiful as any in brevard. The fairways and some of the T boxes are still coming back but getting there. New golf carts, friendly staff and only 29.00 to play in the winter makes this a winner.

Last week I play the Highlands reserve Country club. The best greens I've seen in 8 yrs of playing around florida. This course is wide open and very picturesque. A great layout. The staff is great, the rental clubs were Taylor made and in great shape.

Its a bit of a drive about 70 miles from Cocoa. W of kissimme on 192, then left on US 27 for about 4 miles.

Well worth the drive and tolls.

I play Savannah's a lot, 30+ times per year. Outstanding greens- very fast, terrific greens and T boxes. I was saddened this week when I found out that almost all of the paid employees have been laid off!!! Brevard County budget short falls were the culprit I was told. WHAT A SHAME !!! These employees made the golfing at Savannah's all the better.

I'm afraid that the greens keepers an other maintenance folks will go next.

Please call, or email our Brevard County Commisioners to lend your support to save the 3 Brevard County golf courses. Once they fall into disrepair, it may never come back !!!

The Cocoa Beach Country Club has a beautiful layout. All three of their 9 hole courses are in the best shape they've been in for years!! Congratulations to the members, management and staff for returning this place to the greatness that it once was, this is an outstanding golfing value. We held a fund raiser for the Cocoa Beach High School Football team and it was a delight.

I haven't played Royal Oaks for about a year, and the last time it was in horrible shape. So when I called them I was assured that the new owner had corrected the problems . It's just not true. the 3rd and 4th fairways have mostly weeds. No grass to speak of, its just a shame to see such a nice golf course go down like this.... back nine is in much better shape than the front, but I would rate the back nine a marginal at best.

Even for 20.00 per round, I'm gonna stay away for another year to give the new owner time to fix the front nine.

I wish them good luck- they have an uphill fight to save this course !!

I played Cocoa Beach CC. last weekend (5-1-10) and I'm pleased to say after a long comeback, the course has returned to good shape. I haven't played it for months cause they lost the greens due to water problems, they replaced them all then the winter freeze set them back. But now, their in tip - top shape. Greens are fast, rock hard, but in absolutely great shape. Give em a try.!!!

I played habitat on 4-24, it has very good fairways but 1/4 to 1/3 of the greens are showing signs of wear. Im told they will be taking the greens down for the sand treatment the week of May 1st. This is a nice course layout with some challenging holes !!

I played Savannahs just this past weekend. Still in great shape. but beware, they will closing the course tues. 4-19, for what they call Maintenance - aerification sanding etc. The course will re-open on Wednesday (special rates !!). I'll be looking for another place to play for a couple of weeks to allow the course to get back to normal.

I've heard Turtle Creek is not in its best shape !! so my search continues !!!

The best course in the county just keeps chugging along. Great greens, fairways. the unlimited warm-up balls before playing, and the great staff makes this a tremendous day of golf.

I haven't play Duran in 4 yrs. Back then it was noisy due to all the construction going on on the weekends. THATS no longer the case - sadly...
WE reserved our T time on-line!! (Golfnow.com) and we played for a "reduced" rate of 36.02 each including Cars. (a 25% savings). I can't say enough about the Greens !!! they were as close to flawless as I've seen- anywhwere- ever! Fairways are in great shape too!.. The cart started to run out of juice on 15, and because it was around 5:30pm it was hard to get anyone to come save us... We called the Restaurant and the lady there came to our rescue and the ranger showed up in about 45 mins. Good staff team work !!!
"Refreshements" and sandwiches are a little high (4.00 for a freaking hot dog?? and 4.00 for a beer and 7.00 for a sandwich !!!)

Soo Savannah's still has the best "value" in the county. But the next time I have a few extra shekel's in my pocket its back to Duran I go...
It's so wide open and forgiving I can't understand why I didn't shoot better :)
