Duran Golf Club Featured

I love Duran and have played there a ton. But from the day they opened, it seems their biggest problem is getting the grass to grow in thick on the course. It seems every lie in any fairway is a tight lie, and in most cases, you can see dirt right through the grass. The greens have been hit and miss, although without a doubt they are the nicest feature of this course. All the courses are struggling a bit because of the drought. Get the afternoon rate or one of the specials they offer, and it'll be worth it. If not, they will charge you a high rate and you won't think it's worth it when its done. Hence the title of my review!

This course was windy on the day I played and extremely tough, but lots of fun at the same time. The greens were in spectacular shape. This course offers some real good rates late morning and early afternoon. And if you are a military, firefight, police, or teacher, they will give you an extra % off your fees.

Last time I played, the greens had been sanded. They have recovered nicely and are in beautiful shape.

The course is in real nice shape, but I noticed the greens were sandy. Not so much that it made putting miserable, but it was tough this morning while there was dew on the greens. By mid morning when the greens were starting to dry up, the putting conditions improved. This course is still is great shape and has some descent rates compared to surrounding courses.

This course is in really nice shape. Get out and play it now!!

Played the back 9 twice today, which was in pretty nice shape, while they aerified the front, but they are doing the back 9 tomorrow so the whole course will be aerified. Give this course a few weeks to recover.

Duran is in great shape right now. The greens are rolling nice and true and most of them are in good shape. This course is nice and green right now. The Space Coast Am was just a couple weeks ago, so the course shape set up real nice for that. Duran is also offering some great rates right now.

The course was green, but pretty dry. The greens were in ok shape but very hard and tough to hold the balls. They have recently punched the greens, but used real small holes so they aren't affected too much and are still rolling ok. The fairways are pretty matted down, buy ok as well. Overall this course is in about a 3 out of 5 condition.

The greens were in pretty good shape, but hard and slow. You'd get a lot of roll out of your tee shots as the fairways were green, but firm. The fairways are not in the greatest shape but I'm sure will start to get thicker as the rainy season begins. The tee boxes were pretty chewed up on some holes and nice on others. The driving range is in real poor shape, hardly any grass to hit on. All that said, this course is still a blast to play and they offer some pretty good deals right now, especially for Military, fireman, police officers, and teachers. Go to their site for details.

I haven't play Duran in 4 yrs. Back then it was noisy due to all the construction going on on the weekends. THATS no longer the case - sadly...
WE reserved our T time on-line!! (Golfnow.com) and we played for a "reduced" rate of 36.02 each including Cars. (a 25% savings). I can't say enough about the Greens !!! they were as close to flawless as I've seen- anywhwere- ever! Fairways are in great shape too!.. The cart started to run out of juice on 15, and because it was around 5:30pm it was hard to get anyone to come save us... We called the Restaurant and the lady there came to our rescue and the ranger showed up in about 45 mins. Good staff team work !!!
"Refreshements" and sandwiches are a little high (4.00 for a freaking hot dog?? and 4.00 for a beer and 7.00 for a sandwich !!!)

Soo Savannah's still has the best "value" in the county. But the next time I have a few extra shekel's in my pocket its back to Duran I go...
It's so wide open and forgiving I can't understand why I didn't shoot better :)
