Gorgeous Fairways

I love this course and played cause it was recommended to me, but was disappointed in the greens condition. It's almost as if they are going through a transition right now in grass. They were really fast and rolled pretty true, but looked sparse, almost as if you could see dirt through the grass. The fairways were a dream though and make playing at Viera worth it right now!

Pros
Fairways are spectacular!!
Cons
Greens were low point

Pros
the current prices.
Cons
This course is in pretty rough shape right now. I played the back nine yesterday and every green was in terrible shape. I think they are in the process of changing the grass or overseeding. Nonetheless, the greens, fairways, and tee boxes all need a little TLC. This course is still fun to play, and if you wait until the afternoon, you can get a cheap rate for 18 holes.

Good and Bad

This was like playing two different courses.

Front 9: I'm not sure what has happened but after spending all that time and money on replacing their greens the front nine is in terrible condition. They're about to lose every green on the front. there were patches on the greens that didn't even have grass and every putt was a bumpy ride. The fairways were in decent shape but they're brown like winter just hit.

Back 9: We made the turn and it was like stepping onto a completly different course. Can't compliment the back nine conditions enough. It was exceptional from tee to green.

Great price for a Saturday afternoon. $27 is a great value. Not sure why Brevard County golf courses don't understand the importance of customer service. The people in the pro shop were very nice but how hard is it to be a starter. I mean seriously! Everyone comes to the course in a good mood and then you want to be a prick because you're on some kind of power trip. If a foursome arrives and are ready to play let them go. Why do they have to wait 15 minutes for the scheduled foursome in front of them to show up? We didn't let it ruin our mood, and it's insignificant in the grand scheme of things, but just one of those little annoiances you shouldn't have to deal with.

All that said I'd certainly play again. Hopefully, they have a handle on what needs to be done to fix the front nine because you really can't beat the price and it's a fun and challenging course to play.

Course Ratings

Pros
Great Price ($27 for a Saturday 1:52 tee time). Back nine is in exceptional shape. The people in the pro shop were very nice. Bunkers throughout entire course well maintained.
Cons
Greens on the front nine are awful. Practice green is in terrible shape. Starter was a prick.

Fast greens, but recovering from cold weather

Viera is one of the most fun courses in brevard county in my opinion. That said, this course is recovering from some cold weather that has come to the area last week. A lot of the course is brown, but im sure will come back soon enough. Still, for winter rates, it was $33 after 11, which a pretty great deal.
